The Embodied Self (Tweens & Teens)
Space for neurodiverse & gender-expansive youth to explore body & mind w/ art, yoga, movement
Group/Workshop Description
The Embodied Self A 16-Week Gestalt-Informed Journey for Tweens & Teens This group offers a brave space for neuro-diverse and gender-expansive youth to explore the intersection of body and mind. Through art, yoga, and movement, we move from "what’s wrong" to "how do I feel, and what do I need?" This 16-week group for tweens and teens, based in Gestalt therapy, will explore each of the body’s anatomical systems, utilizing artistic creation, mindfulness, movement, metaphor, and therapeutic yogic principles, to understand how we can navigate towards balance and flow of our whole emotional, spiritual and physical being. Topics include sensations, urges, boundaries, emotion identification and regulation, and self-care. Bring a yoga mat; wear clothes for movement and art (messy-friendly!) Max: 8 participants, *Note: sessions will build on each other over the duration. Self-pay and insurance accepted within provider contracted networks. Cards via website, check and cash accepted on-site. date/times: June 6-October 10, Saturday afternoon 2:00pm-4:30pm (no groups July 4, August 1st, September 5).
