Art Therapy, ITR, Sand Tray

I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor and Board Certified Art Therapist providing art therapy and counseling to children, youth, and adults.  I have over 20 years experience and my approach is that of a collaborator.  I believe that each individual is the expert of their experience, but that when life presents challenges such as loss, mental illness, trauma, or major change, a person can become overwhelmed making it hard to see the way forward.  In my collaboration with individuals I aim to help break down life challenges and empower a person's confidence in their own wisdom and strengths.   I am trained in a number of therapeutic approaches.  Some of areas of training that inform my practices include: Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), treatment of severe mental illness, trauma informed care, Instinctual Trauma Response (ITR), person-centered care, strengths based treatment, mindfulness, and creative arts therapies. Together we will put the art process to work in your life to help achieve such things as reducing anxiety, finding personal strengths, developing insight into challenges, navigating overwhelming emotions, or building hope in the future. Services: Individual art therapy sessions Occasional art therapy groups or workshops Clinical supervision for counselors and art therapists. Play Therapy, EMDR, Parenting, Couples

My journey to becoming a therapist wasn't a straight line, and I believe that’s my greatest strength. Previously, I spent years in the software industry, leading teams with a philosophy of moving forward without all the answers: start with what we know, take a meaningful step, and see what happens. If it works, we build; if not, we adapt. I bring this same mindset to my work with children and families. There is no rigid, one-size-fits-all plan. My understanding of a child’s world is shaped by my diverse background as a Case Manager, a paraprofessional in Douglas County schools, and a DCF investigator. These roles taught me that a child’s challenges are inseparable from their environment—home, school, and community. In our sessions, I am direct, but always with humor and compassion. Drawing from my Master’s in Clinical Mental Health and training in contemplative therapy, I integrate mindfulness and self-compassion. I am also trained in EMDR and am pursuing Synergetic Play Therapy certification to help children heal through their natural language of play. Together, we will take practical steps toward growth, celebrating what works and compassionately adjusting what doesn’t. Services: Individual Play Therapy with your child 2-13 yrs old EMDR, children and adults (coming spring 2026) Parenting Skills Therapy In-Network: BCBS, Aetna, KanCare Sunflower, KanCare Healthy Blue, KanCare UnitedHealthcare

Kori Staab, MT-BC

Rhythm & Resonance Music, LLC

Music Therapy Groups, Sound Baths

Kori Staab, MT-BC, is a board certified music therapist, music educator, and active local musician with over 20 years of experience. Kori received her bachelor’s degree in music education from Kansas State University in spring of 2007. After teaching elementary music in public schools for a few years, she was inspired to pursue music therapy, driven by the way her students on the autism spectrum responded to music. Inspired to deepen her practice, she then attended the University of Kansas for the graduate equivalency degree program, earning her master’s degree in music education and music therapy in summer of 2017. This followed a 9-month internship at the Madonna School for Disabilities in Omaha, NE (now known as Madonna Ability Alliance). Kori worked part time as a private music therapist in a small studio between Leavenworth, KS and Weston, MO and in clients’ homes while also working as a Registered Behavior Technician with Sunflower ABA.  Due to needing to lessen her commute to work, Kori started to work at a music studio in Lawrence starting in the summer of 2022 as a piano and drum teacher. After leaving the Lawrence studio in January 2025, Kori opened her own practice, Rhythm & Resonance Music, LLC, where she focuses on student/client-centered music therapy and teaching methods. She has also begun exploring conducting sound baths with crystal singing bowls. Outside of her practice, Kori enjoys spending time with her daughter, dog, and husband, and stays active in the local music scene through her three bands.

Creative Embodiment Therapy

Art Therapy, CBT, Strengths Based

If you like art or are interested in diving deeper with your cognitive processing art therapy may be the next step for you. This creative avenue offers a different approach to communication in sessions. Are you having distressing thoughts, difficulty with open communication or asking for help? I am a licensed clinical professional counselor in KS with a second master's degree specialized in Art Therapy. This experiential approach of art making helps break barriers to communication in session and life. If you are seeking a safe nonjudgmental space where you feel empowered and attain more self-efficacy through expressiveness, welcome to Creative Embodiment.
